The best beaches near Puerto de Andratx
Andratx has a total of 24 beaches and coves where you can enjoy a relaxing bath. Some are accessible by car and public transport and others can only be reached on foot. In any case, there are options for all tastes!
Cala en Fonoll is one of the coves closest to Puerto de Andratx. Although its location (between cliffs) makes access on foot difficult, the views of the port, its crystal clear waters and the privacy it offers are plenty of reasons to dare to walk, not recommended for children. From the nearby Cala Moragues, located about 180 meters, it can also be reached by skirting the sea more easily. This cove of sand and stones is usually frequented by tourists from the nearest hotels.
Following the coast and without leaving the Puerto de Andratx area, Cala d’Egos can be reached on foot, swimming or kayaking, suitable for bathing, diving and anchoring boats. It is not usually very crowded, precisely because of the difficulty of access. This sea inlet has a large ravine as a backdrop where a torrent flows, which gives rise to a dry and rugged landscape with low mountains and pine trees.
Another unspoiled corner that no swimmer who stops at Puerto de Andratx cannot miss is Cala Marmassen, located in the eastern part of the Punta de la Mola peninsula, ideal for diving and snorkeling. Despite having areas with stairs to get out of the sea, it is not a place to visit with children since it is located in a rocky area surrounded by cliffs of up to 128 meters and its access is difficult.
Cala Llamp is also a ‘must’ for visitors to Puerto de Andratx. Just a kilometer and a half from the Port and with natural shadows in the surroundings, this beautiful cove of stones and rocks, 122 meters long, offers wonderful views of Sa Dragonera and the mountains of Sa Mola and Galtazó. The vehicle can be parked for free in the vicinity and you just have to go down some stairs to bathe in its waters.
Finally, the beach of Camp de Mar, with fine sand, calm waters and in the shape of a “U,” is another of the obligatory stops. Located between Cap Andritxol and Platja de ses Dones, it is perfect for all types of visitors. The small islet (‘Illeta’) located in the middle of it is surprising, which can be accessed through a wooden walkway, located on a bridge that serves as a jetty for some of the swallows that lead to the Dragonera.
